Job description

Would you like to be part of a small and highly specialised service committed to supporting me with every aspect of my life?

Would you like to work with me to enable me to live as independently as possible in my local community?

Would you like to be well trained, supported, and paid, knowing you make a positive difference every day?

About Me

Hi, I am looking for support in my new home in Whitfield, Dover. I am a man with autism, epilepsy, and sometimes challenging behaviour. I enjoy going out daily but can feel anxious when things are unpredictable or unfamiliar. I am fun to be with and want team members who care and support me in daily activities like eating healthily, staying active, and learning new skills. I have unique ways of doing things, which my team will learn to support.

I love visiting parks, countryside walks, and going out for cake! I enjoy foot massages to relax and stay calm.

I cannot speak but communicate via a picture system. Learning my language will be fun and rewarding.

I need a predictable, structured routine.

Full training and induction will be provided, with initial shifts alongside my Team Leader to get to know each other.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24-hour service requiring flexibility, including nights and some weekends.

Role Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

This hands-on role involves supporting my independence and daily activities, including:

  • Supporting with personal care and medication
  • Helping me stay safe and healthy
  • Supporting my personal interests and life skills development
  • Assisting with household chores like cleaning and cooking
  • Organising activities locally and during holidays
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring
The Ideal Candidate

You must:

  • Be active and fit, as I love outdoor walks in all weather
  • Be mature, proactive, and patient
  • Respect my routines and support my development
  • Help reduce my anxieties and improve my quality of life
  • Follow safety rules and work well with others and independently
