Support Worker Days. Autism Pathways

  • Shift patterns: 08:00-15:00, 15:00-22:00, plus occasional shorter 6 hour shifts specifically allocated for community-based activities programme
  • £13.70 per hour

The Autism Pathways team have many years of experience in developing high-quality accommodation and care for people who need additional support.

We provide modern, spacious self-contained residential and supported living accommodations, with additional features to keep people safe and empower them to have greater choice and control in their lives, thus supporting them in achieving greater independence.

The Role:

Autism Pathways are currently seeking knowledgeable and confident Support Workers to join our setting for adults with Autism, which opened inOctober 2023. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your specialist experience in an innovative unique concept setting, where every detail is person-centred and tailored to the individual. This includes 2-1 or 3-1 working with each service user (daytimes), highly structured individual activity programmes, a living space/workplace designed for safety (for both the service user and for you!), and an ambitious professional development plan so you can truly become an expert in your field.

The Service:

Based in the heart of Birkenhead, this state-of-the-art specialist setting will comprise of 3 purpose-adapted bungalows providing completely private tailored accommodation for each resident. Catering specifically for individuals with highly unique complex needs and behaviours, we are passionate about providing a service for those who may previously have struggled to find the right support environment to give them the best chance of success.

  • Completely separate living accommodation for each resident, comprising of their own bedroom, living space, kitchen, bathroom and gardens
  • Specialist additional features to promote safety throughout the setting, including reenforced furniture and appliances, high-tech medical monitoring equipment where required, completely separate staff area within each bungalow (with own access) to promote maximum privacy and independence

Role Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similarsetting (adults’ Autism, learning disabilities/complex behavioural needs or caring for the elderly)- preferred but not essential
  • Currently hold, or be willing to undertake Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns according to the needs of our residents, including weekend working
  • We are looking for calm, confident individuals who can display a positive understanding and attitude towards complex behaviours that may be challenging
