Job description

Are you passionate about supporting people to return to their own homes? Do you have a driving license and access to your own vehicle? Are you ready for a rewarding role within a supportive team?

Available locations: Bridgwater, Highbridge, Cheddar, and surrounding areas.

Salary: GBP13.25 per hour (GBP14.25 weekend rate) plus a GBP500 welcome bonus.

Hours: Part-time & full-time - 30 or 35 hours per week.

About the Role:
  • The D2A service provides short-term, high-quality support to individuals who are well enough not to need an acute hospital bed but do need some extra support in their home.
  • You will assess customers' needs to identify areas where support is needed to promote independent living and provide person-centred care.
  • You will motivate customers and build their confidence so they can achieve their goals and return to independent living.
  • You will support customers with tasks around the home and with personal care such as hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
  • Shifts will include a mix of early and late shifts between 7 am and 10 pm, including alternate weekends.
About You:
  • Previous experience in caring for vulnerable adults is essential. You should be sensitive, caring, and passionate about delivering a first-class service to your local community.
  • You should be proactive and self-motivated with great initiative and excellent communication skills.
  • QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
  • A full driving license and access to your own vehicle are required, as you will need to be comfortable with lone working and travelling between customers.
Role Benefits:
  • GBP500 welcome bonus upon successful completion of your probation period.
  • Double time on bank holidays and an additional GBP1 per hour on weekends.
  • Mileage allowance of 45p per mile.
  • Paid annual leave: 30 days (including bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service (pro-rata).
