Job summary

Ocean Healthcare in Bodmin is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide 2:1 care for a gentleman living with a long-term mental illness. You will work day and night shifts from his home, ensuring safety, routine, and engagement in activities he loves, such as live music events.

Full training provided; you must have a valid driving licence, reliable transport, and strong references. Right to work in the UK applies. Opportunities for full- or part-time contracts are available.

Qualifications

• Experience providing 2:1 support in a care setting.
• Experience with mental health support and managing challenging behaviours.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car.
• Strong references (covering at least 3 years).
• Good communication and reliability.
• Right to work in the UK (visa not offered).

Support Worker required to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with a long-term mental illness in his home - Bodmin.

Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an long-term mental illness. He also experiences hallucinations and delusional thoughts.

With the support of a Nurse on-call 24/7 your role will be to help ensure he feels safe and secure while also encouraging him to rebuild his confidence in engaging with the activities he loves.

He finds great comfort in music, river fishing and sharing stories. He loves spending time with his daughters and enjoys going to live music events, which is something he hopes to regain confidence in doing again.

Shifts Available:

DAY SHIFTS (08:00–20:00)

Week 2: Friday, Saturday

NIGHT SHIFTS (20:00-08:00)

Week 2: Saturday

What We’re Looking For

Confident and resilient Support Worker

Mental Health experience

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, confident Support Worker with a background in mental health support and experience managing challenging behaviours. Full training and support will be provided.
