Job summary

Snap Care in Stevenage is seeking a dedicated Support Worker/Carer (Female) to assist Ellie, a 16-year-old with cerebral palsy, visual impairment, autism and ADHD. The role involves 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.

You must have experience supporting clients with disabilities and be comfortable in a family home. A driver is preferred, with mileage paid, and the role is based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting clients with disabilities, SEN or related support needs.
• Comfortable working in a family home environment.
• Swimmer.
• Female only due to client's needs.
• Desirable: experience supporting behaviours that challenge.
• Desirable: fatigue management, regulation management and/or physio programme support.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and support to Ellie, facilitating activities and routines.
• Support with fatigue regulation and management.
• Assist with swimming, outings, shopping and social activities.
• Ensure safety and household tasks in a family home environment.

• Pay: £20.30 gross per hour

• Hours and Days of Work: 20 hours per week, worked flexibility over the week with a mixture of mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Essential Experience: Previous experience supporting clients with disabilities, SEN or related support needs. Comfortable working in a family home environment. Swimmer. Female only
• Desirable: Experience supporting behaviours that challenge. Experience with fatigue management, regulation management and/or physio programme support.
• Driver Required: Yes; own car required. Mileage paid at 55p per mile.
• Family Pets: Hypoallergenic dog and a cat

Ellie, 16, is a bright, funny and sociable young person who loves getting out and about, swimming, gaming, shopping, cinema trips and trying new activities. She has cerebral palsy, a visual impairment, acquired brain injury, autism and ADHD, and benefits from patient, consistent support to manage fatigue, regulation and her daily routines.
