Support Worker / Buddy (Part-Time) Ref: 08/ Cumnock /JL 02/06/2025
Personal employer: Cumnock

Location: Cumnock

Applicants must be flexible, as hours and shifts will vary weekly. Availability for overnights during weekdays and weekends is required. The regular weekly hours are approximately 4 hours.

Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour

Job Details

Support Worker / Buddy (Part-Time) needed to assist a young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

You will provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring his safety at all times. The young man has limited communication skills, so patience is essential to help him express his needs and feelings. Continuity and consistency are very important to him.

He enjoys walking on nice days and using his pool in the garden.

Candidate Requirements
  • Calm, patient, and able to recognize anxieties and behaviors related to his condition.
  • Experience with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and managing seizures.
  • Ability to administer medication when required.
  • Driver with own car, full clean driver’s license, and business insurance. Mileage allowance paid for work-related travel.
Additional Information

This position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Successful applicants must provide two references (one from current or most recent employer) and undergo a PVG Disclosure at the employer’s cost.
