Job title: Support Worker (Supported Living)

Hours: Full time (40 hours) or Part time

Vacancy Locations: Bronwydd Arms, Carmarthenshire

This role will require a full UK manual drivers licence.

Due to the nature of the position, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).

What we need from you?

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Perthyn. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for adults with learning disabilities. Your commitment to understanding and meeting the unique needs of our service users is essential.

  • Empathy, patience, and understanding to cater to the unique needs and preferences of the people we support.
  • Effective communication skills, as clear and compassionate communication is essential to build positive relationships.
  • Flexibility in adapting to different routines and providing support tailored to each person’s unique requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with other staff members and professionals.
  • Willingness to undergo training to support people supported with specific health needs, such as Epilepsy and Dysphagia.
  • Experience or knowledge of using communication methods for people supported with hearing impairments is desirable.

Your rewards

  • Full and part time posts are available, with a full-time basic salary of £25,029.00
  • Earn approximately an additional £3,000 per year by completing 1 weekly sleep-in shift £6,000 for 2 sleep-in shifts a week!
  • Availability of overtime - e.g., 1 extra shift per week can earn you an additional £4,000 per year
  • Holiday Scheme: Annual leave starting at 22 days, plus Bank Holidays (increasing to 26 days)
  • Sleep-in Shifts: Paid at £60 per night in addition to basic salary
  • Occupational Sick Pay: Up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay
  • DBS Certificate and SCW Registration: Costs covered by the company
  • Induction, Support, and Development: Fully funded comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and qualification in Health & Social Care
