Job description

Due to the expansion of our current services, we are calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their lives.

What we're looking for:

  • Caring, patient, and passionate about supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Supporting people with their finances (paying bills, shopping, etc.)
  • Actively reducing social isolation by supporting social groups and activities.
  • Supporting with personal care, including helping people get ready for the day, medication support, and assisting with showering and bathroom needs.
  • Using Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to help improve people’s quality of life.

Contract options:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hrs
  • Part-time

All our services are 24-hour care. We prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your personal and social life!

  • Days: Between 07:45-22:30
  • Sleep-ins: 22:30-07:45

There is also a sleep-in option with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

Note: Whilst Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the current minimum salary requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship under Home Office guidelines.
