Job Description:

Our Meallmore team at Alderwood is ready to warmly welcome you as a Support Worker within their care home. Alderwood House is a purpose-built mental health care home in Dumbarton offering personalised nursing care to adults enduring or recovering from a mental disorder. The facility provides care for vulnerable people with mental health needs, focusing on restoring confidence and enabling residents to live as independently as possible.

We offer a mentorship programme and ongoing learning and development to support your career growth, whether as a Senior Care Assistant or Senior Care Practitioner. If you’re not already a registered care assistant, you will be required to register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council), and Meallmore will support you through this process.

Your role as a Meallmore Support Worker will include:

  • Providing high-quality care and support according to individual care/support plans.
  • Creating wellbeing within a caring environment and participating in the general activities of the home.
  • Adhering to Meallmore Standards, Policies, Procedures, and National Care Standards.
  • Working in line with the SSSC codes of Practice.
  • Collaborating with care staff in your department and wider teams.
  • Carrying out personal care duties.
  • Working towards the qualification to meet SSSC registration requirements.
  • Possessing SVQ level 2 or above/equivalent in Health and Social Care (desirable).
  • Having communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Demonstrating a kind and caring nature.
