Qualifications

  • Experience in senior or hospice care preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia care principles is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to administer medications safely and effectively.
  • Experience in home care settings or nursing homes is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks.

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Workers AND Healthcare Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and nursing homes. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for those in need, particularly seniors and individuals with dementia or other health challenges. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering personalised care while ensuring the dignity and respect of each individual.

Duties
  • Provide patient care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Offer dementia care support, ensuring a safe and comforting environment for individuals experiencing cognitive challenges.
  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met according to dietary requirements.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor the health status of clients, reporting any changes to relevant professionals.
  • Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations during shifts.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Skills
  • Strong background in patient care, with experience in senior care or hospice care preferred.
