As a Support Worker, you’ll make a real difference to their quality of life by engaging with individuals to improve their daily living skills. As a Support Worker, you’ll join Gulliver House supported living service, which supports 9 adults with mental health and/or complex needs, as well as adults requiring outreach support in the Copeland area.
We support people across the UK with mental health, substance misuse, and learning disabilities. As a Support Worker, you’ll improve their quality of life through engagement and support for daily living skills. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career with training and experience.
You will be part of Gulliver House supported living, supporting adults with mental health and complex needs, and providing outreach support in Copeland.
You will recognize signs of deteriorating mental health and help implement interventions. Promoting independence, wellbeing, and healthy life choices, you will support service users to maximize their involvement in recovery plans developed with Care Coordinators. Outreach support includes assistance with medication and daily activities, working alone or with colleagues.
You will work one-on-one with service users, designing recovery plans in partnership with them and their care team, to support their progress. Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions is essential.
You will work shifts on a 24-hour rota, including weekends, bank holidays, and waking nights.
We are looking for a Support Worker with experience, qualifications, and understanding of mental health and complex needs.
You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and positive attitude. Good IT, communication, numeracy, and literacy skills are required to produce support plans and intervention materials.
Strong communication skills, energy, flexibility, empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental, sensitive approach are essential to support people effectively, especially in challenging situations.
