We are looking for caring and committed Support Workers to join our small team supporting a gentleman in his 60s. This is a highly personalised role where you'll spend time getting to know the person you support, understanding what matters to him and helping him live the life he chooses. He enjoys getting out and about every day and has a busy social calendar that includes swimming, attending clubs and classes, visiting the cinema, eating out, shopping and going for walks.
Family relationships are extremely important to him, and you'll play a key role in supporting him to stay connected through family visits, events and video calls.
Support includes personal care, medication administration, mobility support and helping to maintain a safe, comfortable home environment. The gentleman uses a wheelchair and a range of mobility equipment including a Sara Steady, shower chair and rise-and-recline chair. You will also support with meal preparation, ensuring food and drinks are prepared safely in line with prescribed texture-modified diets and fluids.
Typical shifts will include daytime support and may involve weekends.
Due to the rural location of the home and the need to drive mobility vehicles, applicants must hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
We're looking for someone who demonstrates our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect. You may already have experience in care, support work, healthcare or working with people with disabilities, but just as importantly you'll be someone who enjoys building relationships and supporting people to achieve their goals.
You'll be someone who:
Most importantly, you'll recognise every moment as an opportunity to support someone to learn, develop and enjoy life.
