Job summary

Autism Initiatives in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help autistic individuals live more independently at home and promote wellbeing. You will join a dynamic team that supports people with autism to enjoy an active lifestyle and meaningful everyday activities.

The role involves enabling participation in community activities, promoting health, and providing training and progression opportunities while building on each person’s strengths and goals.

Responsibilities

• Support autistic individuals to be as independent as possible at home.
• Promote health and well-being of the people we support.
• Encourage participation in community activities (swimming, walking groups, cinema trips).
• Assist individuals to maintain their home and personal routines.

35 Hours

£26485.76 per annum based on a 39-hour working week

Who we are looking for:

As a Support Worker, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and will enjoy joining a dynamic team that encourages people with autism to enjoy an active lifestyle. Community activities could include swimming, accessing walking groups or trips to the cinema. You will also promote health and well-being and support individuals to maintain their home. The support we deliver is flexible and unique to each individual, building on their strengths and driven by their goals.

We are looking for people who share and demonstrate our values. You may have a background or understanding of supporting autistic people, but if not don’t worry, we have great training and a friendly team to support you every step of the way.
