Job Opportunity: Support Worker at Hedgerows
Hedgerows short breaks residential service is seeking motivated individuals to support adults with learning disabilities. The role involves empowering individuals to make informed choices about their support and activities both in-house and in the community.
Located in Staplehurst near Maidstone, Hedgerows offers short break stays for up to four people, providing respite for their caregivers. This rewarding role involves assisting with personal care while respecting dignity and promoting independence.
Position Details
- Part-time roles following a four-week rolling rota, including early/late shifts, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Flexibility is essential to meet business needs.
- Salary ranges from £25,127 to £26,383 pro-rata (£13.05 - £13.71 per hour), with enhancements for bank holidays, sleep-in duties (£40.76 per sleep-in), and overtime opportunities.

Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards within two years.
- Completion of Care Certificate if not already held.
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Applicants must demonstrate responsibility, independence, and teamwork skills, with the ability to record, report, and monitor daily activities.
Ongoing training and supervision will be provided to support career development.
Additional Information
- This role has a genuine occupational requirement for the applicant to be female, under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
- Requires an Enhanced DBS check.
- As a customer-facing role, proficiency in spoken English or Welsh is essential, as per statutory duties under the Immigration Act 2016.
