Job summary

Thera Group is recruiting a Support Worker to join the Thera East Anglia team. You will support adults with learning disabilities in their homes and community, providing personal and emotional support while helping them achieve personal goals.

The role involves a 24/7 rota, including early/late shifts and weekends. A full UK driving licence is required, and you should have good IT skills to complete digital timesheets and e-learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with learning disabilities in day-to-day activities and personal care.
  • Help individuals develop new skills and achieve personal goals.
  • Assist with planning, budgeting, travel, leisure activities and employment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and supervisors.
  • Work as part of a 24/7 rota including early/late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Every person you support is different, so the support you provide will vary from person to person.

Day-to-day, this could include helping someone develop new skills, offering personal and emotional support, or supporting them to plan and manage their own home. You might also help with leisure activities, employment, personal interests, or travel.

It’s a role that can be fun and rewarding, and at times challenging and demanding — often in equal measure. You could be supporting people in their own home or out and about in their community.
