Job summary

City Wide Care Alarms is seeking a Support Worker to join our team in Sheffield. You will respond to emergency calls from people in their homes, attend falls, and assess immediate needs while recording brief reports after each visit.

You must have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) or equivalent qualification, plus a full driving licence. Enhanced DBS checks are required and vehicles are provided.

Job description

City Wide Care Alarms is a well-established care alarm service supporting over 8,000 people across Sheffield, helping them to remain safe, secure and independent in their own homes.

The service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We are looking to appoint a Support Worker to join our team.

Essential requirements: You must have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults), or an equivalent qualification, and a full driving licence; vehicles are provided.

Working pattern: If successful, you will work according to a rota pattern that includes shift work and alternate weekends, with enhanced pay for unsociable hours. The shifts are 7:00 - 14:30 and 14:30 - 22:00.

As a Support Worker, you will respond to emergency calls from people in their own homes, including attending falls, providing reassurance, assessing immediate needs and recording brief reports after each visit.

You will need strong communication skills, confidence working with people in urgent situations and the ability to work calmly as part of a responsive citywide service.

We are based at Priory Offices at Darnall, off street parking is available.

Full training will be given.

Pre-employment check: All successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
