Salary: £12.21 per hour (£22,222 per annum)

Working Hours: 35 hours per week (7am - 10pm)

Service: Steps Newfield View

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join our team at Steps Newfield View.

Steps Newfield View is a part of the National Care Group and is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Autism.

We provide one-to-one support across 14 supporting living settings plus outreach in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. As a team we focus on tailored support to help each person achieve their individual goals and aspirations. The role of a National Care Group Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic female support worker to provide 1:1 support for a young woman with complex physical and learning disabilities. She is a full-time wheelchair user and requires full assistance with all aspects of daily living. She is a vibrant and joyful individual who enjoys watching films, listening to music, sensory activities and going out in the community on days out to the cinema, aquariums and zoos.

As a team we promote person centred support and help each person to achieve their goals and aspirations by focusing on the skills they have and building upon them. We are proud that we have made a positive impact on people’s lives and have been able to see people develop their skills and confidence so they can take ownership over their own lives.

What qualities do you need to be a great support worker?

  • A caring attitude, with a passion for supporting others and a motivation to see them achieve goals.
  • A team player, able to work effectively with other colleagues.
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and the confidence to ask for support if needed.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
