Do you believe that support should be about creating opportunities, building confidence and helping someone live life to the fullest?

Superior Healthcare is recruiting for two compassionate and proactive Support Workers to support a vibrant young woman living with a brain injury.

We’re looking for people who see beyond a diagnosis and are passionate about enabling somebody to lead an active, fulfilling and meaningful life. This role is not just about providing support. It’s about encouraging independence, developing skills, building confidence and creating opportunities for new experiences.

About the Person

The person you’ll be supporting is intelligent, witty, sociable and determined to continue widening her world. She has a fantastic sense of humour, loves meeting people and enjoys a busy lifestyle filled with activities and adventures.

Her interests include:

  • Harry Potter
  • Music and live events
  • Dogs and animal therapy
  • Theatre trips and days out
  • Swimming and wellbeing activities
  • Coffee shop visits
  • Quizzes and history
  • Yoga and staying active

She responds best to positive, encouraging people who focus on what she can do and who are willing to motivate her to try new things, build her confidence and achieve her goals.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting an active lifestyle and community participation
  • Accompanying to appointments, activities and social outings
  • Encouraging independence with daily routines and personal goals
  • Supporting skill development and confidence building
  • Helping identify and plan new opportunities, experiences and activities
  • Providing person-centred support that promotes choice and control
  • Supporting with epilepsy management and following care plans
  • Promoting positive wellbeing and quality of life
What We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience as a Support Worker or Personal Assistant
  • A genuine passion for enabling independence
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries (desirable)
  • Experience of epilepsy and seizure management (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people get the most out of life.

You Might Be Perfect If…

You are the sort of person who:

  • Encourages rather than takes over
  • Enjoys being out and about instead of sitting indoors
  • Can motivate someone to pursue their goals
  • Has a good sense of humour
  • Loves music, dogs or Harry Potter
  • Celebrates progress, no matter how big or small
  • Understands that great support is about empowerment, not dependency
Shift Pattern

Tuesday to Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm

The family would ideally like to recruit two part-time team members to share these hours and provide consistency within the support team.

Why This Role Is Different

This is a fantastic opportunity to support somebody who is ambitious, determined and eager to continue exploring new opportunities. We’re looking for someone who will be a positive influence, a motivator and a champion for independence.

If you’re passionate about helping people live bigger, fuller lives and want a role where no two days are ever the same, we’d love to hear from you!
