Everything you do matters

From the moment you open the door and enter one of our services, you become more than you were.

You enter a place called home by our young people, where a simple smile can brighten a day, listening can save and shape lives, and being punctual and present has a significant impact.

Joining Cambian means directly influencing the futures of the young people in our care. Asking “how was school?” is more than a question; it’s about stability, genuine interest, and listening. It helps break barriers, unlock confidence, and shows that you’re here and they are safe.

Our Residential Care Workers are vital for the development of our young residents. Challenges will occur, with lows and highs, but every step forward is a reason to celebrate, and a simple “well done” is meaningful.

Our homes care for young people aged 8-18 from diverse backgrounds with varying social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our goal is to create the best outcomes so each can reach their full potential.

The days can be long but…

You will make a real difference daily, ensuring minimal disruption and filling their days with meaningful interactions often taken for granted.

Your responsibilities include waking them up and preparing them for the day—whether for school or a morning at the park—making the environment feel like home by cleaning, helping with homework, or preparing dinner. Evenings and weekends are for fun—playing games, watching movies, or outings.

Yes, there’s paperwork and planning, but supporting our young people is never boring. The days may be long, but time flies, and your work matters greatly.

How we appreciate you

We offer the sector’s best induction, with two weeks of expert-led, face-to-face content. We also fund NVQ levels 3-5 if you demonstrate capability and desire.

  • Bonuses: Up to 10 sleep-ins per month paid at £30 each.
  • Career Development: We promote from within; many senior staff started as Support Workers, Deputies, or Managers here.
  • Flexible benefits: From day one, enjoy discounts through Pluxxee UK with brands like ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, Primark, and M&S. Access a 24-hour helpline, Caretech Foundation’s match funding, staff hardship grants, and after 2 years, Simply Health benefits with cashback for dental and optical care.
  • Incredible facilities and a supportive team, designed to feel like home.

You do you…

We take pride in our team’s pursuit of high standards and positive outcomes for children, young people, and each other.

All we ask is that you demonstrate our core values:

Friendly, Positive, Innovative, Empowering, and Person-Centred

These values guide our decisions and actions to achieve the best outcomes for everyone involved.

Cambian is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check, provide at least two references from the past two years, and references for all roles involving work with children or vulnerable groups, including employment history back to full-time education.
