The working day can be very unpredictable. You could find yourself spending the entire morning organizing activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support.

  • Rate of Pay: £12.36-£13.00 per hour depending on experience, with a £30.00 additional sleep-in rate

As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of the children’s daily lives. The positive impact you will have is immeasurable. You will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference every day. Most importantly, you will understand our children and their backgrounds, ensuring their needs are at the center of everything we do. You will be approachable, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring our children’s safety and adherence to protocols and regulations.

Shift Pattern: 16-24 Hour shifts (including Sleep-in) on a one-on-two off or two-on-four off basis.

Here is an example of a day in the life of one of our Children’s Residential Care Workers:

The young people in our care range from 8 to 18 years old and have various behavioral and emotional needs.

Duties include:

  • Delivering high-quality care for our children
  • Offering guidance, support, and structure in their daily routines
  • Supporting engagement with education
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles and positive living choices
  • Accessing clinically led training to enhance skills and practice
  • Household duties
  • Record keeping and report writing
  • Organizing days out (social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
  • Attending contacts, visits, key work meetings, and therapy sessions
  • Providing transport for activities and appointments

Requirements:

  • Desirable but not essential: Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, experience in therapeutic environments, leadership skills, higher qualifications
