Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is recruiting full-time Support Workers to assist nursing staff with admissions, assessments, and discharges while upholding dignity and safety. You’ll work 38.5 hours weekly on a rota covering days, nights, and weekends, with training provided.

Applicants should be resilient, caring, and able to support patients through a structured MDT approach, maintaining a safe environment and following safeguarding guidelines. DBS enhanced checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff with admission, assessment, implementation and discharge.
• Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support treatments and care plans.
• Conduct safe observations of patients, 1:1 or with other staff.
• Meet physical and emotional needs with empathy and care.
• Support group and individual activities to promote wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow safeguarding guidelines.
• Undergo de-escalation and PMVA training when needed.

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is our state-of-the-art, 64 bed mental health facility for adults situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone

We are currently recruiting full time Support Workers with a passion for delivering outstanding care.

As an active member of our dynamic team, you’ll provide support for our nursing staff including the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, with a focus on dignity and safety at all times.

You will receive full training and Induction into the role and be required to work 38.5 hours per week a on a rota basis including days, night and weekends.

Please note: We do not offer Visa Sponsorship for this role and you must have at least 12 months or more remaining on your current visa to be considered

In this role you’ll:

• Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support implementation of the treatments and therapy as per the service users’ care plans.
• Compliment and provide support to the qualified nurses.
• Undertake safe observations of patients sometimes on a 1:1 basis or with other staff.
• Meet the physical and emotional needs of the service users in a caring and empathic manner.
• Play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing by providing and supporting individual or group work.
• Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment to live and work in.
• Work within Safeguarding guidelines
• Undertake training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques to support patients with potentially violent or aggressive behaviours towards themselves or others.
