Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Churchill in London is recruiting Support Workers for Juniper Court, our acute mental health service for men. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support admission, assessment and discharge, focusing on dignity and safety.

The role involves 43 hours per week on a day/night rota with shifts 7:30am-8pm and 7:30pm-8am. Successful applicants will have inpatient MH experience, strong communication, resilience, and a genuine commitment to making a real difference in

Qualifications

• Previous inpatient mental health experience in an acute or rehabilitation setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a good team player.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of treatments and therapy per service users' care plans.
• Complement and provide support to qualified nurses.
• Undertake safe observations of patients, 1:1 or with other staff.
• Meet physical and emotional needs of service users with care and empathy.
• Provide and support individual or group activities to promote wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment; follow safeguarding guidelines.

Cygnet Hospital Churchill, located in south London, is a 56 bed inpatient mental health hospital for men.

We are recruiting Support Workers with a passion for delivering outstanding care to work on Juniper Court, our mental health acute service for men.

As an active member of our dynamic team, you'll provide support for our nursing staff including the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, with a focus on dignity and safety at all times.

By combining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and state-of-the-art facilities, we deliver high-quality care within a community atmosphere, while focusing on discharge planning from the moment service users arrive.

You'll be working 43 hours a week covering day and night shifts, between 7:30am-8pm and 7:30pm-8am on a rota basis.

Please note we do not offer sponsorship and you will need to have at least 12 months remaining on your visa to be considered.

You're Day-to-day

• Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support implementation of the treatments and therapy as per the service users' care plans.
• Compliment and provide support to the qualified nurses.
• Undertake safe observations of patients sometimes on a 1:1 basis or with other staff.
• Meet the physical and emotional needs of the service users in a caring and empathic manner.
• Play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing by providing and supporting individual or group work.
• Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment to live and work in.
• Work within Safeguarding guidelines
