Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone, a 64-bed mental health facility in Maidstone, is recruiting full-time Support Workers to assist nursing staff with admissions, assessments and discharges, keeping dignity and safety at the forefront.

You will receive full training and induction, and work 38.5 hours per week on a rota including days, nights and weekends. Interviews are scheduled; visa sponsorship is not offered and you must have at least 12 months remaining on your current visa.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support implementation of treatments and therapy per care plans.
• Support qualified nurses and complement their duties.
• Undertake safe observations of patients, sometimes 1:1 with another staff.
• Meet physical and emotional needs of service users in a caring, empathic manner.
• Play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing through individual or group work.
• Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for patients and staff.
• Work within safeguarding guidelines and undertake de-escalation training and PMVA when required.

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is our state-of-the-art, 64 bed mental health facility for adults situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone. We are currently recruiting full time Support Workers with a passion for delivering outstanding care. As an active member of our dynamic team, youll provide support for our nursing staff including the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, with a focus on dignity and safety at all times. You will receive full training and Induction into the role and be required to work 38.5 hours per week a on a rota basis including days, night and weekends. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted to attend face to face interview on Tuesday 1st September & Wednesday 2nd September. Please note: We do not offer Visa Sponsorship for this role and you must have at least 12 months or more remaining on your current visa to be considered.

In this role youll

• Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support implementation of the treatments and therapy as per the service users care plans.
• Compliment and provide support to the qualified nurses.
• Undertake safe observations of patients sometimes on a 1:1 basis or w ith other staff.
• Meet the physical and emotional needs of the service users in a caring and empathic manner.
• Play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing by providing and supporting individual or group work.
• Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment to live and work in.
• Work within Safeguarding guidelines Undertake training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques to support patients with potentially violent or aggressive behaviours towards themselves or others.
