Job summary

A care provision organization in London is looking for Care Workers to support individuals in leading fulfilling lives. Candidates with experience in mental health or NVQ qualifications are preferred, but training will be provided. Job description

Your salary equivalent per annum is from £29,550 per annum (working fulltime hours of 40 hours per week and working two sleep-in shifts per week)
Benefits include 28 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, training and career progression. Your hours of work will be flexible and include early and late shifts, including sleep in’s, weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of people we support.
All essential training including Health and Social Care diplomas 3, 5 shall be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To actively participate in the development and provision of high quality care to all service users, including organising formal keywork sessions and the preparation and review of care plans
• To assist clients with accessing local services and amenities (including leisure and recreational facilities) and, where necessary, to accompany service users to GP, hospital, dentist, and optician appointments
• To assist clients with shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry as required, In conjunction with other members of staff, to accompany clients on holidays
• To be a team player, attend and actively participate in team meetings and 1:1s, as well as all relevant training
• To liaise with relatives, advocates, legal representatives, care co-coordinators and other external professionals as appropriate and in accordance with data protection requirements
• To complete all daily logs, communications books, diaries, and handover sheets in accordance with organisational standards
• To administer medication in accordance with organisational standards and legislative requirements
• To maintain accurate records of all financial transactions with associated receipts for all petty cash and service user expenditure
• To keep the communal and common areas clean, in line with infection control, food and hygiene protocols
• To support Service users to places of worship, including Mosques, Churches, Synagogue etc
Experience in working with vulnerable adults with mental illness, complex needs or challenging behaviour will be an advantage. NVQ Level 2 or above will also be an advantage. However, all relevant/essential training will be given in full.
