Support Worker (Day/ Night)
Christ the King Residential Care Homes is looking to hire Support Workers.
Job Details:
- Required education: NVQ Level 2/3 or Care Certificate.
- Required experience: Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Job Types: Full-time/ Part-time, Permanent.
- Salary: £10.75- £11.40 /hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Users:
- Support challenging behaviour safely and supportively, using skills and approaches learned through training; promote positive behaviour management.
- Assess residents before admission and develop their service plan in conjunction with senior staff and significant others.
- Participate in allocating places based on compatibility and resources.
- Review and update service plans to meet individual needs.
- Implement and record individual service plans.
- Provide support and refer to senior staff for specialist assistance.
- Support residents in maintaining contact with friends and family.
- Participate in training residents to develop new skills and create training opportunities for skill development.
- Communicate service contract details, quality measures, and access to complaints procedures to service users.
- Promote good relationships and act as advocates for service users.
Staff:
- Attend work reliably and punctually.
- Work collaboratively with service users, colleagues, support services, families, and stakeholders.
- Participate in appraisal programs.
- Manage work delegation and monitor service quality.
- Offer team-building and training sessions based on needs identified through supervision and appraisal.
- Manage staff time efficiency, leave, and service quality.
- Adhere to company policies.
- Support a clean, safe, and respectful living environment.
- Maintain privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of service users.
General:
- Maintain up-to-date records and reports.
- Develop links with professional and statutory agencies involved with residents.
- Manage budgets and finances responsibly.
- Follow legal requirements and policies on medication administration.
- Participate in communication systems to inform and update staff and carers.
- Report incidents and changes to the Home Manager or Nurse in charge.
- Assist in the daily running of the service, including maintenance and equipment.
- Use time efficiently and effectively.
Personal:
- Participate in supervision and staff appraisal systems.
- Stay informed about new developments through professional reading.
- Participate in training opportunities.
- Perform duties ensuring residents' safety and well-being.
- Support residents in accessing community opportunities and participation.
Other:
- Work away from home when necessary, including assisting with holidays and outings.
- Perform additional duties such as daily cleaning as required.
