We are looking for a bubbly, enthusiastic and organised person to join our permanent team of support workers to provide a flexible support service to a young adult female with cerebral palsy living in her own home. Acting in an enabling capacity, the role will be to help organise appointments, days out and correspondence; and motivate and support the client in accessing leisure, health and social services, as part of an individual programmed plan.

You will be providing 2:1 care with other members of the team. Assisting with personal care needs, the safe administration of medication including PEG feeding, completing daily records, and experience in moving and handling is required; the client has a ceiling track hoist. Simple cleaning tasks will also be needed.

Previous care experience is essential, and it is desirable to have worked in people’s own homes. You must also have experience of working with people with complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. The successful applicant should be able to work well with others and respect cultural differences.

Full driving licence is essential as you will be expected to drive the client’s vehicle to access leisure activities.

Hours of work:

1. 30 hours per week
2. Monday - 4pm – 9pm
3. Wednesday - 4pm – 9pm
4. Saturday - 8am – 6pm
5. Sunday - 8am – 6pm (extra hours may be needed in the college holidays and to cover holidays/sickness)

Rate of pay:

Weekdays - £15.50 per hour

Weekends - £18.50 per hour

Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
