Job summary

Real Life Options in Ilkeston is seeking a Male Support Worker to assist individuals in their own homes, promoting independence and wellbeing. You will follow daily planners, help with finances, and support medication administration while encouraging participation in local activities.

The role includes working a full-time schedule of 39 hours per week on a rota, with weekends, evenings and bank holidays required; a DBS check is enhanced.

Male Support Worker

Ilkeston, DE7 8XW

£12.71 per hour

Full-time 39 hours per week - Permanent

Real Life Options provide support to people with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.

We provide individualised support packages and promote independence to enable people to live a happy fulfilled life within their own homes. The purpose-built accommodation is made of individual apartments and purpose-built bungalows.

The service comprises of 12 apartments for people with mild learning disabilities, 4 bungalows for individuals with higher complex needs and 4 bungalows for people who display behaviours of concern.

About the Role

You will be supporting individuals in their own homes to live as independently as possible, this involves;

  • following daily planners
  • helping with financial expenditure
  • support and administration of medication
  • care
  • planning/preparation
  • important relationships
  • to find new friendships

A rewarding part of the role will be encouraging participation in activities in the local community to enhance social inclusion. Seeking new opportunities for the growth and development of the people we support which could include volunteering roles and further education access.

Shift patterns:
  • Hours between 7am to 10pm

Working on a rota, you will be required to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays with planned time off.

Flexibility to cover any of these shift patterns over the 7 day weekly period is essential

An Enhanced DBS will be required for this role.
