Job summary

Voyage Care in Huddersfield is looking for compassionate, hands-on Support Workers to help residents gain independence and improve quality of life within a supportive team.

You will assist with personal care, community access, and daily activities, fostering skills and confidence. A full UK driving licence is required; training in Positive Behaviour Support and PECS will be provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with enhanced support needs, including distress behaviours, mental health conditions, autism and trauma.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to gain independence in daily living.
• Assist with personal care, daily activities and community access.
• Encourage participation in outings, meals, and activities in local cafes, shops and leisure venues.

Support Worker – Huddersfield - £13.30 ph

Typical Shifts are: 7.30am to 2.30pm - 3.00pm to 10.00pm

Our residential service in Huddersfield is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, multi sensory needs f and people who have experienced trauma
