Turning Point UK is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities in Thornton. You will support daily living skills, accompany activities, assist with budgeting, shopping, cooking, and promote independence in a person-centred environment.

Shifts are varied across a 24-hour service, with patterns from early to late, nights and some weekends. Training is provided after a 6-month probation, including Level 2 and Level 3 care worker programs to develop your career.

Where will I be working?

Our services in Thornton provide a 24 hour facilities in providing care for 11 adults with Learning Disabilities and additional health issues. We endeavour to create positive family relationships offering a good circle of support. There is a strong focus on supporting individuals' lives in a person centred way which includes various activities, shopping, managing own budgets and cooking. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible. Please note: in this service we support people with complex learning disabilities and there are high levels of personal care involved.

Training and Development

We offer training to all those who want to develop their skills and competencies not just in the care sector but in other areas too. Level 2 and 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 Operational Team Leader Please note training will be offered after your probation period ends which is 6 months. Once you begin your training with us you will have your own coach who will support you through your programme.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00/8:00 am to 2:30/3:30 pm or 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm, occasional waking nights and some weekends. Please note that working hours may vary.
