Job summary

Mencap is seeking a Female Support Worker to join our team in Buckfastleigh & Newton Abbot. You will assist individuals with learning disabilities in daily activities, provide emotional support, and help with personal care, medications, and finances as part of a holistic care plan.

The role includes day trips and activities such as gym, holidays, and horse riding, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Female Support Workers to join our incredible team in Buckfastleigh & Newton Abbot. As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life. Personal care, medication support, finance support, food and hygiene with SALT, challenging behaviour, all aspects of day to day support. Day trips, gym, holidays, horse riding.

Working Hours & Shift Details

• Full-time
• Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
• Shift times: All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
• Days: Between 07:00-22:00 Working every other weekend is required. There is also a sleep-ins which are a contractual requirement although not guaranteed, where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20

Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
