Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.

• Support patients with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, chairs, and using mobility aids.

• Take and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) under the supervision of qualified staff.

• Maintain patient hygiene and assist with pressure area care and prevention.

• Accurately document care provided in patient records, adhering to confidentiality and information governance protocols.

• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and relatives.

• Assist with meal preparation, serving meals, and monitoring nutritional intake.

• Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.

• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment in accordance with infection control procedures.

• Support nurses with clinical duties such as wound care preparation, equipment setup, and chaperoning.

• Escort patients to other departments within the hospital as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant (within the NHS or hospital setting).

• Understanding of infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused approach.

• Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Flexibility to work across various shifts, including weekends and nights if required.

• Must have Immunisation records (HEP - B , MMR and TB)

• Must have Hospital experience in UK

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in acute care, elderly care, or high-dependency units.

• Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (e.g., SystemOne, EPIC).
