Job summary

Advance Housing and Support Ltd is seeking Support Workers in Hackney to help people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs live the lives they choose. You will assist with personal care, meals, medical appointments and social activities, while maintaining accurate records and following care plans.

We offer flexible hours, training and career progression. Prior experience is not required—values, dedication and a desire to make a difference are key.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to follow care plans and record updates accurately.
  • Comfort with working weekends and flexible shifts.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Literacy and numeracy in English; computer literate for digital records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed.
  • Administer medications if required and update care plans.
  • Support with meals, appointments, social activities, and independent skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required care documentation.
  • Ensure safeguarding and quality records are kept up to date.
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development.

Advance is looking for Support Workers in Hackney to support customers with learning disabilities/ autism/ complex needs/ mental health conditions to live the lives they choose.

Day to Day Activities:
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals
  • Support with attending medical appointments
  • Support with social activities
  • Support with independent skills
  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training

Requirements:
  • Good at working on your own and within a team
  • Excellent at communicating with people
  • Able to complete quality support records in line with individual needs and organisational policies
  • Able to work weekends
  • Able to work between 7am and 10:30pm
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments and maintain accurate and confidential customer records
  • Need to be literate and numerate in English
  • Need to be computer literate, with the ability to confidently use digital systems for care documentation
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate
