East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist a 21-year-old man with learning disabilities. The role involves accompanying him to activities such as swimming, gym and cinema, and supporting his independence in community settings.

The candidate should be approachable, patient and caring, capable of using their own initiative while maintaining a safe environment. DBS/reference checks will be required, with the cost met by the local authority.

Rate of Pay:£13.50- £22 per hour (depending on employment status and experience)

Support worker required for a 21 year old man with learning disabilities. He enjoys various activities including swimming, going to the gym and cinema but generally loves trying new things.

Duties to include supporting him in the community and accompanying him to activities as he can get a little overwhelmed with large crowds. Support to develop independence is also required.

We are seeking applicants who are approachable, have a positive attitude, patient and caring. The candidate must be able to use their own initiative whilst also ensuring that an environment for maximizing independence and safety is maintained.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.

The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.

Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
