Job summary

Voyage Care is recruiting a Support Worker for our Crawley service. The role focuses on helping people gain more independence, teaching life skills and providing personal care. The position includes engaging clients in local community activities and social events, from outings to cinemas to quiet evenings at home.

We value resilience, flexibility and a genuine caring attitude. DBS checks and references are required for all applicants; some roles may require a driver.

Qualifications

• Be genuinely caring, hands-on and supportive in daily activities.
• Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
• Experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Teach life skills and assist with personal care.
• Encourage access to local communities, socialising and activities.
• Support individuals in daily routines, including outings to bars, pubs or cinema and at home with games and films.

Support Worker – Crawley - £12.95ph - Driver Required

Typical Shifts are: 8am-8pm / 8am-2pm / 2pm-8pm.

As a support worker with us you’ll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our residential service in Crawley is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex individuals with mental health needs, traumatic backgrounds and challenging behaviours.
