The Role
As a Personal CareAssistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providingessential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but willfocus solely on supporting this client.
This role is for 16 hours perweek. Shifts will be allocated to meet the needs of the client and will bebetween 08:00 – 23:00, Monday to Sunday.
About the Client & YourResponsibilities
Our client is a young womanwith learning disabilities and complex health needs who is looking for personalassistants who can assist her to live independently at home with herparents.
When she is well, she is verysociable and enjoys going to cafés, the cinema, museums, shows and hanging outwith friends. she likes to be out and about and enjoys using her tricycle onthe seafront and in the park. When she is not well, she enjoys listening tostories, watching DVDs and appreciates companionship and someone to make sureshe is as comfortable as possible.
You will be required toundertake duties such as assisting with personal care, medication administration,moving & handling with and without a hoist, supporting our client duringprolonged myoclonus (shaking) episodes, first aid and lighthousework/cooking. You will also be required to support her with hercommunication programme (PODD), for which training will be given.
We are looking for a personalassistant who is respectful, fun, well organised and who is able to adapt tomake the best of everyday, whether our client is well or notwell. Experience of working with people with learning disabilitiesis a must. You will need to be caring and compassionate but also resilient andable to use your initiative.
Training & Support
We provide comprehensive,paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:
All training must be completedprior to start date and is paid at £14.40 per hour.
