Job description

Support Worker – Worthing – Salary up to 27,000 + Sleep in rate = .00 per sleep shift

Platinum Recruitment is partnering with a leading health care provider in Worthing, West Sussex to find compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join their team.

You'll play a vital role in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy, and Acquired Brain Injury to live fulfilling lives.

A NEW enhanced DBS certificate will be required for this support worker role and ideally hold a UK Driving licence and car

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support based on assessed needs and preferences, promoting independence and well–being.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
  • Community Engagement: Accompany individuals on outings, appointments, and social activities.
  • Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily notes and incident reports.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and other professionals.
  • Shift Work: Work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep–ins.

About the Role:

  • Provide support to individuals with complex needs, enabling them to live fulfilling lives.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, medication administration, and domestic tasks.
  • Support individuals in accessing community resources, attending appointments, and engaging in meaningful activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development and implementation of support plans.
  • Ensure the safety and well–being of individuals at all times.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy, and Acquired Brain Injury.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previously experience as a care assistant, in Social care or working with vulnerable people is an advantage
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and some sleep–ins.
  • Commitment to providing high–quality, service user support.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in the health and social care sector (desirable).
  • Dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Experience with Mental Health in young people or adults and if you hold a MHFA certificate – this is a bonus!
  • A full UK driving licence, this will be an advantage
