Hours: 30 hours per week. Various shifts between the hours of 8am - 8pm. Weekend work is included.

This role will involve working with one resident on a 2:1 basis.

This role will also require you to drive our residents in the company vehicle, therefore it is essential that the successful candidate has held a full UK driving licence for 3 years

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and eating
  • Supporting with cooking and preparation of food and drinks
  • Administering of medication (training provided)
  • Perform housekeeping duties to include deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and changing beds
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments, in-house activities, going out into the community
  • Attendance of daily handovers to members of the team
  • Observe, monitor, and recording physical and emotional well-being, with immediate reporting to the management team on site or via the on-call system
  • Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities, promoting independence
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must come with previous care experience. This is due to this being a nights role and no senior management team being present during your working hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

Additional Information

The Old Vicarage is located close to Dewsbury town. It offers residential support for seven adult males and females with a range of needs. This includes adults with a learning disability, individuals with mental health needs, and people on the autism spectrum.

We want to support the people we care for through residential to community living. Disclosure

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
