Support Worker
West Lothian
We are offering an hourly rate of £12.32. Shifts to be covered are 08.00- 14.00 & 14.00 – 22.00, we are looking to cover this 7 days a week.
We will consider full and part time applications.
Due to a new contract win, we are looking for Support Workers in West Lothian. This is a brand-new, purpose-built building to eventually house 16 service users, in their own individual flats.
We are working closely with the local authority through this transition period, and we are gradually moving service users into this new building.

About the Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team based in West Lothian for a specific service who has Autism.
The successful Support Workers will need to be physically fit, strong-minded, and patient for this role. Our service user is a tall and sturdy 21-year-old male, so we are looking for Support Workers who will not be intimidated by this! He is non-verbal but communicates through PECS (picture exchange communication symbols).
The successful Support Worker will be required to administer all medication, support with household tasks, and prepare meals, although these are always the same as our service user only eats a small variety of foods and is very specific on what he will eat.
About Them:
Our service user is autistic and non-verbal; he communicates through PECS (picture exchange communication symbols).
When agitated, he can demonstrate signs of apprehension and/or aggression. At these times, staff are required to follow the behaviour support plan.
Our service user is technology-driven and will spend a lot of his time on his iPad; staff are advised to encourage tasks to be completed by rewarding with technology gain.
Support workers will work on a 1:1 basis; however, on days out, visiting family members, and appointments, staff will be required to work 3:1.
Activities he enjoys:
Due to the nature of this contract, restraint and safety training will be provided. To be suitable for this training, you MUST have a 100% fit bill of health and be able to participate in the practical elements of the course.
