Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistants - Primary Schools
Location: Barnet, North London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time / Long-Term / Supply
Salary: Competitive PAYE Rates - Weekly Pay

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a number of SEND provisions based within primary schools across the London Borough of Barnet, and we are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children with a variety of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.



The Role:

As an SEND Teaching Assistant, your role will be to:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, in line with EHCP targets

  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver inclusive and accessible learning

  • Assist with classroom activities and help to create a safe and engaging learning environment

  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, promoting positive outcomes for pupils

  • Contribute to a caring, consistent, and structured routine that supports student wellbeing



What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (in school, care, or youth settings)

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting every child's individual development

  • Any relevant training or qualifications (e.g. Autism Awareness, Makaton, PECS) is beneficial but not essential
