Job summary

Jane Lewis Healthcare Recruitment in Canterbury is seeking experienced Support Workers to join our agency team. You’ll support people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments across local services, with shifts that fit around other commitments.

Flexible agency work with competitive weekly pay from £14.24 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay, and access to free advanced training and a DBS check.

Qualifications

• At least six months of paid UK care or support experience within the last two years.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Aged 18 or over.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A caring, reliable and professional approach with the ability to adapt to different settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical care and support.
• Assist with everyday tasks and help people engage with the community.
• Encourage independence, choice and social engagement.
• Provide or prompt personal care when required.
• Follow support plans and keep accurate records.
• Some services may require complex care; training will be provided.

You’ll work across local services supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. It's an opportunity to use your skills in different settings, meet new people and help make everyday life better for those you support.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll support people to live as independently as possible and enjoy the routines, relationships and activities that matter to them. Depending on the service, this could include:

• Providing practical care and support
• Helping with everyday tasks, activities and getting out into the community
• Encouraging independence, choice and social engagement
• Providing or prompting personal care when required
• Following support plans and keeping accurate records
• Some services will require complex care, additional training will be provided to support you with this.
