Join Dane House in Brighton as a Support Worker and provide care for people with severe learning disabilities, Autism, and challenging behaviors, supporting them to lead full and valued lives and to become more independent.
You’ll be great with people – a real ‘people person’ – able to communicate effectively, explaining yourself clearly and appropriately for the situation, and understanding others’ behaviors and expressions. A good sense of humor, resilience, and willingness to assist residents with personal hygiene are also important qualities.
What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Whether you have experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker, you will use your knowledge and skills to help support people lead a valued and fulfilled life.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will utilize your excellent communication skills and experience in Learning Disabilities & Autism to support individuals through their care pathways. The environment can be challenging at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are essential. It is hugely rewarding to see the progress of those you support, often doing things they couldn’t do before.
You will work day shifts, three long days a week, from 7 am to 9:45 pm. This is a permanent, full-time contract of 37.5 hours, with additional hours available.

Dane House is a six-bed, mixed-gender community home with communal facilities including lounges, a dining room, and a garden. Residents have severe learning disabilities, autism, and behaviors that may be challenging, along with communication difficulties, sensory impairments, and health issues.
The service operates 24/7, staffed by a dedicated team including a Registered Manager, Team Leaders, and Support Workers. Residents are registered with local GPs and access primary healthcare services in the community.
Located in Brighton, Dane House is within walking distance of local amenities and has excellent transport links, including direct train routes to London.

You must live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK full-time. Student and Skilled Worker visas for 20 hours are not accepted.
