Job description

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker. Females only due to service needs. Must be a driver with a full, manual driver’s licence.

Paxton House is a modern, bright, and well-equipped working environment based in Borrowash, just outside Derby. At Paxton House, we support people between the ages of 18-35 with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, behaviours that are perceived to be challenging, non-verbal communication, and/or autistic spectrum disorders.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Promoting independence with the people we support with all aspects of personal care, cooking, cleaning, key working and general life skills.
  • In house activities - baking, art/crafts, board games, sensory activities, reading etc.
  • Outdoor activities – The young adults who we support enjoy active lifestyles; walking, swimming, golf, pubs, trampolining, lunch out, keeping in touch with families, days out, shopping etc.
  • Shifts will include hours between 7 am- 9 pm, and some waking nights. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
  • Full flexibility needed.
Who you are:
  • Females only due to service needs.
  • You will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a social care setting.
  • You will have an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social care.
  • We are looking for a dedicated, passionate, kind, and caring person who’s willing to participate in the chosen activities of the people we support.
  • You will need to be flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You will be a driver with a full manual driver’s licence.
