Job description

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Academy Support Technician to join our team at the ARDEX Training Academy in Stoke-on-Trent. This role is key to delivering an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the smooth running of training days, supporting marketing and training activities, and managing literature and sample stock.

As the first point of contact for visitors to Building Adhesives Ltd., you will be responsible for preparing the academy for training sessions. This includes setting up practical demonstrations, arranging TV displays, organising literature packs, and managing refreshments throughout the day. You will assist the Training Manager during sessions as required and ensure the academy is cleaned and organised afterwards. You will also conduct quality checks of the premises ahead of factory tours and customer visits, ensuring everything is up to standard.

A significant part of your role will involve managing stock control for training materials and coordinating with the Sales Office to prepare for upcoming sessions. You will also report any Health and Safety concerns related to the academy to the Safety and Systems Manager. Additionally, you will support local training and trade days, assisting with setup and preparation to ensure events run smoothly.

In collaboration with Marketing, you will help create bespoke models, product samples, and training aids. You will oversee the dispatch of product samples, literature requests, and other marketing materials.

Your responsibilities will also include general support tasks such as receiving and distributing parcels, managing hospitality stock for the academy, and processing outgoing business post.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be confident when dealing with customers face-to-face and able to work autonomously while managing multiple tasks. Strong communication skills, both internally and externally, are essential, as is a professional and well-presented demeanour. A customer-focused approach and competent computer literacy are also vital for this role.

What We Offer:

This is a dynamic and varied role within a supportive team environment, offering opportunities to develop skills across customer service, training, and marketing. It’s your chance to represent a respected company in the adhesives industry while contributing to the success of the ARDEX Training Academy.
