The role:

  • Lead and manage a team of support workers, ensuring high-quality care and support for individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and supervisions to promote team cohesion and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, families, and external stakeholders, addressing any concerns or queries.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and induction of new staff members.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the team and the wider organisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in leadership roles within adult services, particularly in care management and team leading.
  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities and the associated support needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above).
  • Proficient in personal care and support work for adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and build positive relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
