We are now seeking an Support Services Assistant Manager to join our team at Ferryfield House, 100 Pilton Drive, Edinburgh , EH5 2HF

What you'll do:

  • Ensure all costs and expenditures remain within the budgeted levels agreed between the client and Sodexo.
  • Control all costs including labour, expenses, and cash purchases, as agreed with the line manager.
  • Plan and manage shift patterns, staff rotas, holiday scheduling, and sickness cover.
  • Comply with all Company and client policies related to:
    • Health and safety
    • Food safety
    • Safe working practices
    • Hygiene and cleanliness
    • Fire safety
    • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
    • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Maintain hazard awareness in the workplace; ensure all equipment is safe and functional, reporting any faults to the line manager.
  • Oversee staff training, team huddles, and absence monitoring.
  • Complete all internal daily, weekly, and monthly checks in line with client policies.
  • Attend the daily client meeting in the absence of the manager.
  • Prepare reports and participate in user meetings.
  • Assume the role of Building Manager during holidays.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff, including:
    • Personal development
    • Reward and recognition
    • Appraisals
    • Health and safety
    • Communication of shared goals
  • Support the manager in administering payroll for establishment staff via UDC, and maintain personnel records in compliance with statutory regulations and Company policy.
  • Take full responsibility for the establishment in the manager's absence.
  • Supervise staff in their duties and assist in organizing their hours and rotas.
  • Assist as needed in the preparation, production, and presentation of all meals and services in accordance with Sodexo's standards and procedures.

Package Description

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Mondays - Fridays. 8AM-4PM, however site operates 7AM-7PM 7 days per week therefore flexibility is required.
  • £27500-28000 per annum
