Mitie Group plc in Sheffield is hiring a Retail Security Officer for M&S stores across Meadowhall, Fargate, Ecclesall Road and surrounding areas. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues while protecting people and products.

The role requires calm under pressure, professional conduct, and a proactive approach. Previous security experience is preferred; a valid SIA licence is desirable but not essential; must have own transport.

Location: Sheffield - must be able to cover the following areas: Meadowhall, Sheffield Fargate, Ecclesall Road, Crystal Peaks, Cortonwood, Barnsley & surrounding areas

Salary - £14.58 per hour

Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Join M&S as a Security Officer, where you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues.

We're looking for confident, customer-focused individuals who can combine strong awareness with a warm and approachable attitude. You'll be a visible presence in store, helping customers feel supported while playing an important role in keeping the business safe and secure.

• Customer service is at the heart of the role. You'll create a welcoming store environment, greeting customers as they start shopping with us, while delivering professional support to both customers and colleagues.
• You'll help keep our stores safe and secure. From preventing loss and responding to incidents, to identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working, you'll play a key role in protecting the M&S environment.
• Being digitally confident is essential. You'll use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
• You'll stay calm under pressure. Whether responding to challenging situations or supporting emergency procedures, you'll always act professionally and confidently.
• Being a team player is crucial. You'll work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
• Flexibility is vital. Retail moves fast and every day is different. You'll adapt quickly to changing situations to support the store when needed.

What we're looking for
