Job overview

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

The post holder is required to support the Respiratory team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team. This will involve waiting list management for a speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and/or typing clinic letters and correspondence as appropriate and supporting the Consultant and Clinical Nurse Specialist team.

Main duties of the job
  • There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will be expected to deal with queries from anxious patients and carers.
  • Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
  • To deliver a high standard of communication to build and maintain good working relationship
