Job description

Exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Practitioner in Clydebank!!

Our team is on the lookout for understanding and creative individuals with a positive attitude to join them as Support Practitioners on a full-time, permanent basis..

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit based on your values and transferable skills and will provide all the training you need to succeed, including the opportunity to complete your SVQ.

For this role it is essential that you hold a full UK, manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as the individuals we support have their own mobility cars.

The Role

Our supported individuals have diverse needs, including Mental Health challenges, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma. As a Support Practitioner in a trauma-aware practice, you’ll play a vital role in empowering them to lead fulfilling lives and achieve their goals.

As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to take an active interest in the hobbies and passions of those we support. Whether it’s discovering new opportunities, encouraging social connections, learning new skills or reducing isolation, you’ll help individuals lead the lives they choose.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns
Our new team will provide 24/7 support, including early shifts, late shifts, sleepovers, and potentially waking nights. Start and finish times may vary as the individuals settle into their new routines. The role will also include working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.

The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours, so for every sleep you cover you will receive an additional £90.40 in your pay.

We’re looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert if suitable candidates are found before the advert closes. To avoid disappointment, pop your application in early.

Closing Date: 29th June 2025 (We reserve the right to close this vacancy at any time)

If you are applying via a job board then please be aware that you must submit an application via our website otherwise we will be unable to contact you!

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.

We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.
