Job description

Support Practitioner - Full Time

Location: Buckhaven

Must hold a full, clean UK Licence.

Make a positive difference in someone's life by joining The Richmond Fellowship Scotland in our Buckhaven service and help support the people who need it most in our communities.

No previous experience in care is required as you will be provided with full training by our excellent and award-winning learning & development team prior to starting. This training initially consists of classroom-based sessions and e-learning, along with the opportunity to shadow current Support Practitioners and meet the people you will be supporting.

We will also finance and support you to achieve your SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care in-house!

Our services are located across the East Fife area, including Levenmouth, Cupar, St Andrews, Buckhaven, Kirkcaldy, Leven, Anstruther, and Glenrothes.

We are looking for staff with the right values who want to make a positive impact. Our staff promote independence within a recovery-based support model. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, and supporting various needs.

Requirements

You may be expected to work weekends, shift patterns, and sleepovers if required.

About The Role

Your responsibilities will depend on individual needs and may include:

  • Social Support - Assisting individuals to engage with their communities through outings and activities.
  • Medical Support - Administering and monitoring medication.
  • Personal Care - Supporting personal wellbeing, including showering, dressing, and arranging professional visits.
  • Practical Support - Helping maintain their tenancy through household tasks like cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland supports over 2800 individuals across Scotland, providing personalised, outcome-focused support for various needs including disabilities, mental health, substance abuse, and autism. Some individuals may present challenging behaviour or require high levels of personal care.
