Job description
Overview

Sense Scotland - join the team and make a difference every day! We’re looking for passionate Support Practitioners to join our friendly dedicated team supporting adults with complex disabilities in the Finglassie area of Glenrothes. We provide 24-hour support in people’s own homes, helping individuals with physical and learning disabilities, visual/hearing impairments, and other complex needs to live full, independent, and joyful lives.

Who we support

We provide 24/7 care for eight individuals, each with unique and complex needs, including but not limited to visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, epilepsy, challenging behaviour, and congenital rubella syndrome. Each support package is tailored to the individual, focusing on person-centred care that helps them achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Finglassie is a lively and engaging environment where no two days are the same. Activities are a big part of life here, and favourites include:

  • Swimming at the warm pool in Fife Leisure Centre (a weekly highlight!)
  • Karaoke and disco afternoons with music, food, and friends
  • Trips out using individual cars for shopping, meals, concerts, theatre visits, and scenic drives
  • In-home fun like arts and crafts, storytelling, pamper sessions, foot spas, and games nights
  • We encourage community involvement while also offering plenty of enriching indoor activities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
What you'll be doing
  • Support individuals with daily tasks including personal care, medication, moving & assisting, and meal preparation.
  • Plan and participate in fun, meaningful activities like art, music, swimming, travel, concerts, and sensory experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Keep accurate daily records and follow individual support plans.
Working patterns

This is a 24-hour housing support service, so you need to be comfortable working a variety of shifts, all scheduled via a supportive staff rota system including:

  • Early and late shifts
  • Sleepovers and wakened night shifts
  • Weekends and public holidays
Why you’ll love it here
  • You'll make a real difference every day by helping individuals with complex needs live life to the fullest, achieving their goals and enjoying meaningful experiences.
  • No two days are ever the same. Every day brings something new and you'll soon feel part of a dynamic, person-centred environment where creativity, compassion, and fun are at the heart of everything we do.
  • There is a supportive team culture. You’ll work alongside passionate, skilled colleagues who value teamwork, respect, and shared success.
  • Ongoing Learning & Development - At Sense Scotland we invest in your growth with training, qualifications, and opportunities to build a long-term career in care.
